Beautiful luxurious bottle, premium wine with mature taste.

 

Wine Varieties

40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 30% Carignan (old vines)

 

Estate Profile

Cordon de Royat pruning for the Syrah vines. Gobelet for the Grenache and Carignan. Low yields, green harvesting.

 

Vineyards

The Syrah vines are planted on Trias limestone marl soils near the buildings of the Domain. The Carignan is on colluvium and fine gravel. The Grenache vines are grown on the Portel plot. Soils are Oligocene limestone marl.

 

Harvest

Grapes hand-picked using 10kg trays – manual sorting.

 

Wine-making

Traditional vinification, with temperature control

 

Maturing

The 3 grape varieties are matured separately in 228-litre oak barrels for 12 months.

 

Analysis

Alcohol content – 14%;

 

Tasting Notes A deep ruby-red colour. A good complex nose, with notes of summer fruits and mild spices. Good balance of freshness, silky tannins, fruit and a long-lasting, aromatic finish.
